2. Hosting
This website is hosted by Host Europe GmbH, Hansestraße 111, 51149 Cologne, Germany, on servers within the European Union. No personal data is transferred to a third country in the process. The provider processes data arising from your visit to the website on our behalf, on the basis of a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR.
3. Server log files
When you access these pages, information is automatically stored in the server log: the address requested, the date and time, the volume of data transferred, the referrer, the browser type and the IP address. This processing serves to deliver the website and to fend off attacks, on the basis of our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The log files are deleted after 30 days.
4. Enquiry form
If you send us an enquiry using the form, we process the details you provide there (name, email address, optionally a telephone number, your travel dates, the number of guests, the apartment you prefer, whether you are bringing a dog, and your message) in order to answer the enquiry and, where applicable, to prepare a booking. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures) and your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, which you may withdraw at any time.
The details are stored in our database and additionally sent to us by email. To protect against automated submissions, the form contains a hidden field that only programs fill in; no data is transferred to third parties in the process.
We delete enquiries that do not lead to a booking after 12 months. Data relating to bookings that were concluded is kept for the duration of the statutory retention periods.
5. Cookies
This website sets one technically necessary session cookie on all pages that contain the enquiry form. It protects against form abuse (CSRF) and is used to display the confirmation or error message. It is deleted when you close your browser and is not used for analysis. We do not use analytics or marketing cookies; consent is not required for technically necessary cookies under § 25(2) TDDDG.
We also set a technically necessary cookie named “sprache” when you open any page. It contains nothing but the code of the language version last shown (“de”, “pl” or “en”) and expires after one year. On your first visit we evaluate your browser’s language setting once for this purpose — the “Accept-Language” header your browser sends with every request anyway — and forward you to the matching language version. The cookie then makes sure your own choice in the language switcher is kept. There is no evaluation for other purposes and no reference to a person; consent is not required for this either under § 25(2) TDDDG.
We store your choice in the “External content” banner in a cookie named “einwilligung”. It contains nothing but “extern” (external content allowed) or “notwendig” (declined), expires after one year and ensures that the banner does not reappear on every page. This cookie is also strictly necessary (§ 25(2) TDDDG).
6. Fonts and external content
Fonts are served from our own server. No connection is made to Google Fonts or any other content delivery network.
On the “Location” page we embed a map from Google Maps. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. The map is only loaded if you choose “Allow external content” in the banner or click “Load map” on the map area. Only then does your browser connect to Google’s servers; in particular your IP address, the page visited, date and time and information about your browser and operating system are transmitted, and Google may use cookies or similar technologies on your device. The data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA; Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, for which the European Commission has adopted an adequacy decision.
The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG. You can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future by clicking “Cookie settings” in the footer and choosing “Essential cookies only”. Without consent the map stays hidden; instead you can open it directly at Google via the “Open in Google Maps” link. More on how Google processes data: policies.google.com/privacy.
7. Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21). You may withdraw any consent you have given at any time with effect for the future. To do so, please contact the address given above.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, for example the Hessian Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information, Postfach 3163, 65021 Wiesbaden, Germany.
